Types of testing

Calf regards product quality as the cornerstone for excelling in an increasingly competitive market.

A meticulous and thorough inspection of the parts delivered to the customer is essential to ensure top-notch quality. Testing activities and preventive analysis therefore provide the highest assurance of product quality and compliance with customer requirements.

Calf undertakes four different types of checks to ensure that the production process is carried out to the letter.

01. PRODUCTION TESTING

Most internally manufactured items are linked to a control plan. The exact dimensions of each part are established on the basis of the critical features, to be checked directly on the production line. This method is essential to ensure that dimensional requirements are met after the machining phase on machine tools. It allows for corrective action if any deviations occur before the part is completed.

02. ASSEMBLY TESTING

The testing of produced systems can be conducted using tools that replicate their functionality. Calf can support the development and production of these simulators in collaboration with the client to ensure the final testing of the product. With the aid of these tools, potential malfunctions can be prevented, thereby ensuring that the machine functions correctly before delivery

03. TRADITIONAL TESTING

A comprehensive testing department ensures adherence to the tolerances specified in the design for purchased materials and internally manufactured parts. The sample size for acceptance testing is determined by the qualification status of the supplier under review and the LQA (control frequency). When it comes to the produced items, all the first pieces of each batch are inspected, along with an additional piece from the production cycle, to ensure proper adherence to the manufacturing process.

04. THREE-DIMENSIONAL TESTING

Precision metrology is essential for verifying and testing the tolerances of individual components.

The company’s six three-dimensional machines ensure the utmost precision in the final inspection of each piece and, thanks to their greater operating speed, allow for a more flexible system.
